Originally from the UK, Natasha moved to Vancouver in 2005, following extensive travel throughout North America on a Roosevelt Scholarship in 2003. Her encounter with the sheer vastness of the landscape and diversity of the people cultivated a desire to not only move there but to capture its images. In Vancouver she studied photography with master photographers and spent years assisting fashion and portrait photographers.
For Natasha, photography is a life long education, requiring the photographer to continuously expand and broaden their creativity and technique. Towards this end, Natasha has travelled from Australia to the Arctic in pursuit of images of the earth and its people. While the journey is often geographic it is always visual – always a journey from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Great images are only partly technique and Natasha has developed a way to interact with her subjects, whether landscapes or people, intimately and with empathy to create something exceptional.
